Toolozy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

This page explains what Toolozy ("we", "us") collects, why, and what we don't. It's written to match what the site actually does — for the technical detail behind any of this, see About Toolozy.

Browser tools

Most tools on this site run entirely in your own browser using client-side JavaScript. When a tool is labelled Browser, your file never leaves your device — there is nothing for us to collect, because nothing is uploaded.

Server-processed tools

A few tools (labelled Server · free) need real server-side processing — for example converting Word to PDF. When you use one of these:

  • Your file is uploaded, processed, and the result is sent back to you.
  • The uploaded file and the generated result are deleted from our server immediately after — we don't keep a copy.
  • We keep a small log of the request itself (which tool, your IP address, whether it succeeded, how long it took) so we can monitor for abuse and fix problems. This log never contains your file or its content.

Forms — contact, tool reports, and the URL shortener

If you submit a form, we store what you actually type into it, plus your IP address:

  • Contact form — name, email, subject and message, so we can reply.
  • "Report a problem" form — the tool, your message, and an email if you gave one, so we can investigate.
  • URL Shortener — the destination URL you shortened, plus click counts, so links keep working and we can act on abuse reports.

This data is kept until a staff member reviews and removes it — there's no automated sale or sharing of it to anyone.

Analytics

We run our own first-party, self-hosted page-view counter, always on. It records the page path, the referring page (if any), and your IP address, so we can see which tools people actually use and where visits come from. It does not track you across other websites.

We also use Google Analytics — but only if you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you accept, Google sets its own analytics cookies and processes some usage and device data under Google's own Privacy Policy. If you decline, or don't respond, Google Analytics is never loaded for you at all. You can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer, or opt out of Google Analytics site-wide using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies

We always set a first-party session cookie and a matching CSRF-protection cookie when you interact with a form — this is purely a security mechanism (it stops other sites from submitting forms on your behalf) and carries no advertising or tracking. The only cookies that depend on your consent are Google Analytics'.

Third-party services

Some forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam and abuse. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies and process some device/browser information under Google's own Privacy Policy. Every font, icon and stylesheet on this site is self-hosted — we don't load fonts or scripts from Google Fonts or any other third-party CDN that would otherwise see your visit.

Children's privacy

Toolozy is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it — for example, a contact message or complaint you submitted. Reach out via Contact us and we'll act on it.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.

We use Google Analytics (optional, cookie-based) to understand which tools people use. It only loads if you accept. See our Privacy Policy.
